About Oman Shipyard

A global maritime powerhouse building trust and engineering excellence since 1978

Our Corporate Legacy

Established in 1978, Oman Shipyard has evolved from a regional ship repair shop into a dominant force in the global maritime industry. Headquartered in Jebel Ali, Dubai, with major shipyards in Sharjah and Fujairah, and a strategic deepwater branch in Salalah, Oman, we occupy a critical position along the world's busiest shipping lanes. For over 45 years, we have provided shipowners, management companies, naval commands, and marine contractors with world-class engineering solutions.

Our operation is powered by a highly specialized workforce of over 2,000 maritime professionals. Representing 26 nationalities, our staff includes naval architects, mechanical fitters, electrical diagnostics specialists, certified commercial divers, and HSEQ auditors who work cohesively to deliver complex newbuilds, drydockings, and major refits to international standards.

We pride ourselves on an uncompromising commitment to quality and safety. As a trusted partner to international fleets, we hold comprehensive HSEQ certifications audited and approved by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). Our shipyards operate with an emphasis on the 'Zero Harm' policy, ensuring that human safety and ecological preservation remain our highest operational mandates.

International Standards & HSEQ

Oman Shipyard operates in compliance with strict international maritime regulations and quality control systems. Our facilities undergo rigorous biannual audits to maintain our accredited status under key global standards:

  • ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management): Standardizing our design, engineering, project management, and fabrication processes to ensure consistent client satisfaction.
  • ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management): Controlling and minimizing our environmental impact through efficient energy use, sustainable waste management, and state-of-the-art filtration systems.
  • ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety): Protecting our workforce through proactive risk assessment, regular safety drills, and personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance.
  • Class Society Approvals: Certified by leading classification societies (LR, ABS, DNV, BV, ClassNK) for weld procedure specifications (WPS) and commercial diving operations.

Our Corporate Values

Our business philosophy is guided by three core pillars that ensure long-term partnerships with leading shipowners worldwide:

Technical Innovation: We invest in modern shipyard infrastructure — including 3D laser scanners, CNC machinery, robotic welding equipment, and computerized docking software — to guarantee accuracy and efficiency.

Operational Agility: We understand that a vessel off-hire represents a major cost. Our project management office (PMO) optimizes workflows and coordinates yard operations 24/7 to deliver projects ahead of schedule.

Ethical Business Practices: Transparency is key to our success. We provide clear, itemized billing, detailed progress reports during dockings, and strict compliance with local and international anti-bribery regulations.
